Ms. Thompson's Summary:


This is Ms. Thompson's 7th year working in the Elmwood Park Public School District. Before working in Elmwood Park, she attended The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2011 with her BA in English and Secondary Education. She received her Masters in English from TCNJ in 2013, her Supervisory certificate from William Paterson University (WPUNJ) in 2014, her Masters in Educational Leadership/Principal Certification (WPUNJ) in spring 2016, and her School Administrator certificate from Caldwell University in fall 2016. 

In September 2014, Ms. Thompson became one of two K-12 Supervisors of Instruction for the district. In addition to serving as Supervisor of Instruction, for the 2017-2018 academic year she is teaching ELA IV- AP English Literature and Composition and ELA III Honors- British Literature. Lastly, prior to taking on her new leadership role, Ms. Thompson served as the High School National Honor Society advisor for three years and helped coach the Spring Track team for three seasons.

Ms. Thompson strongly believes in the importance of education and instruction. Students come first; therefore, she is continuously looking for ways to improve student growth and learning. Her key philosophy in all aspects of her life is to motivate and inspire others through modeling and leading by example.
